Restore Hibernate option if missing in Windows

October 27, 2008

Well even if your computer supports the hibernation function it might not show it. You have to enable it in Windows if it wasn`t already enabled. As you can see below it is missing from the sutdown menu.

So here is how you can restore it back to the shutdown menu. Go to the Control Panel and select power options.

Then click on the Hibernate tab and the box that says enable hibernation. If you don`t see the hibernation tab your computer might not support it or you may have to update your BIOS.

Now you go to Start –> Turn off and hold shift and the Hibernate option will appear.
