Best Home Pages

Your Homepage tells a lot about your online routines. You might want to have breaking news, weather, or all of that in a personalized page. I used to find it odd when people had blank Home Pages, and that just the way I feel. A Home Page is there on everypage you browse. All you have to do is tell the browser that you want to go home and you will be there. I think that most people would have some kind of search engine as their home page.

Google/iGoogle

Google is one of the most simplest pages on the net but the most helpful. Type anything in and you will get a result. Google is actually my Home Page. iGoogle is a bit more personalized and messy. You can drag and drop widgets include your mail, RSS feeds, weather, etc. You can drag and drop all your widgets.

If you like going directly to sites and don`t mind typing in complete URLs then this Home Page is for you. It does not take long for a blank page to load because it is not getting any data, but instead is a blank page. There is a bad part to haveing a blank home page, if you are having network trouble it will take a while for you to figuire out. Also if you don`t have network trouble and the first site you visit isn`t as reliable as Google and is down, then you will be looking for a problem when there is none.

Netvibes

Netvibes is only used for main thing and that is it starts pages. And thanks to their nice system and design Netvibes has built a good customer base.

Speed Dial

Speed Dial was originally a built in feature in Opera but then was made into a module for Firefox. It was also turned into webapplications. It provides a live preview of your favorite sites.

My Yahoo / Yahoo

Yahoo is trying to become a Home Page as well as a search engine. My yahoo lets you customize it similar to netvibes or iGoogle. My Yahoo basicly ads more feature to the original Yahoo home page.
