How to make your own ethernet cable

Requirements
- Cat5 cable
- RJ-45 plugs (can be purchased in packs of 50 for less than $10)
- Crimper/cutter tool
Steps
- Strip the outer covering of the Ethernet cable so you can see 8 colored wires.Do not damage the colored wires.You want to strip it about an inch
- The colored wires need to be ordered properly
Straight through
T-568A Straight through (not commonly used)
t-569B Straight through(most commonly used)Recommended
Crossover
T-568B Crossover
- Straighten and cut the wires so they are all even and at level.
- Insert the wires into the RJ-45 plug.Make sure the wires are touching the end of the connector.Apply decent force.If it does not go to the end the cable will not work.
- Insert the connector into the crimper.Apply decent force.
- Finish the other side.
